These are answers to frequently asked questions on Weddings in Rarotonga.

Couples from all over the world are choosing the Cook Islands to get married as they feel that escaping to the magic of the idyllic tropics.

When applying for my licence, how many days does it take to process the documents?

It takes 3 working days to process your licence.  We can arrange a waiver at $50, and advance application is required by the Registrar with a reason for the urgency.

Documents required to lodge with your marriage licence is individual passports and birth certificates, plus divorce and death of spouse papers if applicable.  The legal age of consent to marry is 21 years otherwise written approval by parents is required.

You are required to have two witnesses on the day of marriage, don’t worry if you both are travelling alone, the wedding planner can arrange two signatories for you at no charge.

How do I get there?

Your Wedding Planner will arrange the transferring from your accommodation to the Justice Department to apply for your marriage licence and also at the same time take you to the suppliers used for your special day i.e. flowers, photographer, hair & beauty specialists to name a few if required.

I wish to renew my vowels - Do I need to also submit application to the Ministry of Justice?

For those wishing to renew their vows no formal licences are required.  You just arrive, we discuss your ideas and then put into action.  This is a great way to both spend and share your vowels with yourselves or with a group of friends.

Can I amend or change some of the wedding packages you have available?

Absolutely!  Think of the wedding packages as a guideline, we are here to service your dreams, visions, concepts and put these into reality.  If items are removed from the wedding package, then this may decrease the price of your package - I assure you we are very fair!

What happens if it rains?

Throughtout all our consultation, we will discuss with you plan B!  We are fortunate to have a close association with the Muri Beach Club Hotel and therefore can offer some fantastic plan B covered options.  Generally if it is just a shower, we would delay the wedding ceremony slightly if we need to, however for a downpour - we got you covered!

Are we allowed to bring our own wine or bubbles?

We charge corkage fee of $15.  It is normally easier and cheaper to purchase from Rarotonga.  If you would like something special, please let us know in advance so we can order it especially for you.

What flowers are available in Rarotonga?

The Cook Islands, Rarotonga particularly has a wide range of assorted flaura and fauna.  The popular frangipani however is available throughout our summer months, November to March, but can start flowering as early as September.  Gardenia is generally available year round, and florists often order flowers in advance to suit your requirements.

Is there a rainy season?

Our Summer months records the highest levels of rainfall, however in saying this our weather now a days is very much spiratic and quite often rain occurs in the evenings.  Unfortunately sunshine is something I cannot guarantee, but perhaps you may wish to base your special occasion on temperatures which range from 17 degrees in winter to 32 degrees in Summer.
